Since its formation, Campus to Campus Bicycle Committee (CCBC) has advocated for a dedicated bike path connecting UNC campus to the Carolina North site. Our group is collaborating with UNC, staff from both Towns, and the Carrboro Bicycle Coalition. The Carolina North Agreement signed by Chapel Hill and UNC described an off road bike lane.
Over the past weeks, NRG and CCBC have encouraged Town ADvisory Baord to recommend 4 points to the elected officials:
- Asked each Board to endorse Route A
- The Connector is basic infrastructure that will benefit bicyclists in Chapel Hill and Carrboro commuting to UNC. The demand for this facility exists now and will only increase as Chapel Hill and Carrboro grow.
- The connector should receive top priority over other transportation projects.
- The Towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and UNC adopt a joint schedule for next steps with deadlines.
